You’ve Been Lied To About Internet Marketing

27 July 2006

Marketing on the internet is a mystery for many people. One of the biggest problems with starting an internet marketing business is where do you get your information?

Many people have been misguided, or even lied to about current marketing practices and procedures. There are many dishonest people out there who would love to scam you out of you hard earn money. It is very easy way to loose money in internet marketing, especially if you have unreliable or very shoddy guidance to start out with.

Most people believe that the Internet marketing gurus are all-knowing. People seem to think that gurus are superior to the rest of us … and many people fall prey to their nonsense. If they are marketing gurus then their information and teachings must be good right? Right?

No, not always, sometimes the best way for them to stay on top is to step on the head of a new comer to the scene. This will ensure that they do not loose rank in pages or get taken over by a fresh face in the crowd. It is easy for them to lie when you really have no idea what you are doing in this field. You tend to believe out of respect and this can be a very grave mistake that could end up costing you lots of money.

The nonsense that some of these supposed gurus peddle to unsuspecting believers can unfortunately involve the selling of their own product. They can spin a good line, as they have the gift to sell, and the gift of gab. Often the poor soul that is just starting out can be lead to believe that there is minimal work required to an online business.

In order for a business to be successful and grow, there are many things that need to happen. You need to work hard and have dedication to see it through. That is one of the biggest factors involving Internet marketing. Contrary to what you have heard, money must be spent in the business in order to make money. This applies to any type of business; there are no real exceptions to this rule. As the time goes on, and you have managed to get your head above water the biggest struggle will be to keep the business that way for the long term.

Many consider it, to be much easier to succeed in a business run by way of Internet rather than a retail store due to the current and advancing technology that it involves. The use of auto responders, global marketing capabilities, and e-mail can ensure that even a single person operation can be a successful one. This does not take away from the true scope of the workload involved however, as it is an ongoing process to the higher rankings on Internet pages. This is where you will want to be in the end, why start this if you are satisfied at being stuck somewhere in the middle.

It is not impossible for someone on the top to make between 5,000 and 10,000 a month in this field, with the right game plan and marketing skills. You could be someone who would scrape by or loose money all together. Which of the two people would you rather become? It is an easy decision, and one that most people can come to understand relatively quickly.

If you do not work hard at it, you will never be on the top end of the spectrum. This is clear and in plain black and white, to be successful you need a boatload of dedication and perseverance. Along with the right personal goals and a willingness to be a winner. Creativity is a big deal in this industry, if you have none then employing someone who does will go a long way in helping you corner a segment of this market.

Taking time to know exactly what it is you are selling is easily a great way of keeping customer faith. Why would anyone buy from someone that knows nothing about what it is they are selling? This day a great smile does not pay the bills, having your business successful is an endeavor that will surely test your every sense. If you want this to be successful than you need to pay attention to the market, not what some self-proclaimed guru is trying to sell you.

To Your Success,
Mark
