Killer eBay Tips To Triple Your Profit

18 July 2006

Do you sell digital products on eBay? How would you like to triple your profit? Here’sĀ 2 killer tips on how you can do just that:

Killer eBay Tip 1

Have you ever noticed how people categorize products that have low, low prices as inferior? I do it too. For example, if I see an ebook on eBay selling for only 1 cent I automaticaly assume that it’s junk. It may be a great ebook … but because it is being sold for a penny I regard it as worthless.

It’s all about perception. If people perceive your product as worthless, they will not pay much for it. But if those same people perceive your product as valuable then they will gladly cough up the cash to get it.

Why not use the power of perception to your advantage?

Here’s how…
Let’s suppose you have an ebook that you would like to sell for $27. Go ahead and write your salesletter, but before you upload your auction take that same salesletter for your ebook and create a minisite. Now add a Paypal order button and upload your minisite to your host. On the minisite salepage list the price as $67.

Now go ahead and upload your auction to eBay with a buy-it-now price of $27. In your auction listing be sure to include something like this:

We currently are selling “Your Ebook Name” at our website “YourMiniSite.com” for $67, but for a limited time you can get it here for just $27!

When people see that they be much more likely to bid because they will perceive your product as being valuable (not to mention they will think they are getting a bargain!) Just make sure you don’t hyperlink your domain or eBay will cancel your auction.

Killer eBay Tip 2

Have you ever been to a flea market?

It’s funny to watch how some people will try to talk flea market vendors down on price … even though the price is already dirt cheap! I don’t care if the price is 25 cents — they will try to get it down to 20 cents!

Well, just think of eBay as an online flea market. Ebayers love to get a good bargain, and you will be surprised at how many additional bidders you can get to purchase your item just by allowing them to “talk you down on price.”

How do you set that up? Simple. When you upload your $27 “Buy-It-Now” auction to eBay just select the feature “Allow Best Offers”. If you useĀ  this option on your auction you will be surprised at how many you will sell for in the $20 range! Sales that you would not have had otherwise! (and of course, you have the option to approve or deny the offers)

That’s all for now!
